SLAVT

The Society of Laboratory Animal Veterinary Technicians (SLAVT) is a group focused on National recognition through training and certification for veterinary technicians in the field of laboratory animal medicine. This goal was achieved with the creation of the Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) Academy of Laboratory Animal Veterinary Technicians and Nurses (ALAVTN). It is the mission of SLAVT is to enhance animal welfare; sharing of clinical, surgical and technical ideas amongst its membership, continuing education, and professional networking among laboratory animal technicians. This mission is shared with ALAVTN with the main focus to promote excellence by specialization in veterinary technology/nursing in the distinct field of Laboratory Animal Medicine by demonstrating advance proficiency of skill level and knowledge base.
