Start with great soil

A quality seed or starter plant
This tip may seem like a no brainer, but you’d be surprised at how often this part gets overlooked. Some DIY growers will put an enormous amount of time into getting the soil and other factors right, but they haven’t paid enough attention to the actual seed or seedling. If you don’t have this, you won’t get a quality yield.
The growing environment
What’s your grow environment like? Have you put the time into creating optimal conditions? You want to control humidity, cross contamination, and your plant’s PH levels, for starters. If you’re growing indoors, you may need tools such as a grow tent, grow lights, a thermometer, the hygrometer, and a fan.
Make sure you’ve put enough effort into creating the proper conditions.
The Harvest
Just like you would with any other plant, you need to make sure you’re harvesting at just the right time. Factors include color, bud shape, and more. Too early or too late and the plant will not be at its most optimal or effectiveness.
After the harvest
After you’ve harvested, you need to dry, trim and cure your yield. Once you’ve done that, you can store it, which you should do in a vacuum sealed container. Keep it in a cool, dark place for maximum freshness and longevity.
