Date: October 10, 2024
Time: 9:00 AM (PT), 12:00 PM (EST), 6:00 PM (CET)
In this webinar, we will discuss the technique of critical point drying for the preparation of biological and materials science samples for electron microscopy. As hydrated samples cannot generally be loaded directly in to the vacuum chamber of an electron microscope without deformation of structure, critical point drying offers a means to dry samples without a change to that structure.
This presentation will also discuss the steps of chemical tissue process for biological samples as well as the coating step often employed with these dried samples. We will also discuss some of the considerations when choosing a coating material and coating parameters. We will discuss some of Leica Microsystems' unique solutions for tissue process, critical point drying and coating, as well as show several application examples for both biological and industrial samples.
Learning Objectives
- Learn the benefits of critical point drying for sample structure preservation.
- Learn the drying workflow from tissue preparation through coating.
- Learn key coating parameters and how to optimize them for your coated samples.
Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
