Abstract

Influenza (Flu) and COVID-19 are both contagious respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different viruses. COVID-19 is caused by infection with a new coronavirus (called SARS-CoV-2), and Flu is caused by infection with influenza viruses.1 Due to symptom similarities between Flu and COVID-19, testing is needed to help confirm a diagnosis.1  Being able to simultaneously identify patient’s infection status allows physicians the ability to provide optimal treatment decisions and control further disease transmission.  Alinity m Resp-4-Plex assay provides simultaneous qualitative detection and differentiation of Flu A, Flu B, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and SARS-CoV-2 on the fully automated Alinity m system.  This webinar will discuss the design, development and clinical performance of the Alinity m Resp-4-Plex assay.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss Respiratory Disease State and Current Trends Overview
  • Discuss the Alinity m Resp-4-Plex Assay Design
  • Discuss Alinity m Resp-4-Plex Assay Clinical Performance

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
