Enabling fully automated NGS sample preparation using digital microfluidics

The Miro Canvas is a new platform which enables full walkaway automation of complex next generation sequencing (NGS) sample prep protocols. The system uses novel digital microfluidic technology to automate complex protocols, greatly reduce reagent usage and provide compatibility for multiple NGS platforms and protocols. An innovative single use cartridge is used to perform all protocol steps, including mixing, thermal cycling, and bead cleanups. Miroculus will highlight sample prep use cases and results for long read sequencing using PacBio and Oxford Nanopore sequencing platforms.
 
Interpace Biosciences will present results using Twist Bioscience chemistries for library preparation and hybridization capture of custom NGS panels for genetic tests targeting specific markers in Endocrine and GI cancers. This work significantly reduces hands-on technician time and accelerates implementation of diagnostic testing and assessment for patients living with or who are predisposed to the development of aggressive and difficult to treat cancers.
