Abstract
There has been an evolution of organized HPV screening programs from the pap smear to liquid-based cytology, which has brought dramatic reductions in cervical cancer incidence. However, there are still inconsistencies in testing methods and low screening rates across Canada due to COVID-19. This lecture will review the evolution of cervical cancer screening, the current Canadian landscape, and potential strategies for the current and evolving challenges with HPV testing.
