Abstract

Currently, the Cleveland Clinic Biorepository is an assembly of several biobanks together with the Lerner Research Institute. Excel spreadsheets track almost everything – and there are no universal LIS, SOPs, universal, centralized freezer monitoring, or means to electronically track patient tissue.

The Cleveland Clinic is embarking on an enterprise-wide initiative to accelerate its biobanking capacity, leveraging its clinical volume and disease expertise. As part of this initiative, the Cleveland Clinic is partnering with Brooks Life Sciences to build a state of the art, 21,000 square-foot structure biobanking facility, set to open in the summer of 2019.

The collaboration will partner with the community of Cleveland to advance personalized medicine for an array of conditions, and support research with clinically annotated human tissue samples. It will accelerate translational research through streamlined patient recruitment and enrollment, standardized samples processing, and centralized storage, and allow Cleveland Clinic experts and their collaborators to investigate and cure the diseases that ail our patients.

In this webinar you will learn:
  • What clinical translational specimens do we have that could contribute to big data discovery?
  • What resources do you need to build an infrastructure to enhance researchers’ study of human tissue samples and advance personalized medicine for an array of conditions?
