Fighting Pandemics and Building a Healthier and more Equitable World - Getting back on track to end AIDS

Achievement of the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets by country are in danger due to significant variability in progress across populations and countries. Gaps are attributed to reaching vulnerable youth and key populations and ensuring equitable access to testing and treatment. Due to colliding pandemics, a robust testing infrastructure is of critical importance to manage existing programmatic needs while scaling  up testing and supporting pandemic preparedness efforts. To support countries in closing these gaps, and get back on track, new guidance has been released in the form of the WHO key populations guidance as well as the PEPFAR Strategic Direction: Fulfilling America’s Promise to End the HIV/AIDS Pandemic by 2030. Implementation of the new guidance requires a coordinated effort across health system stakeholders to optimize the clinical cascade and achieve the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets.
