Using next-generation proteomics technologies, organoid-based research models have the potential to revolutionize drug discovery and personalized medicine, improving our understanding of neuroimmune interactions and brain inflammation responses in human-specific models.
To understand the mechanism and regulatory pathways involved in human brain development and disease, a vascularized derived human cerebral organoids (hCO) model integrated with human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)-derived human hematopoietic progenitor cells (hHPCs) was developed. Protein profiling of 92 immune-related biomarkers was performed in multiplex using the Proximity Extension assay to characterize and validate the functionality of microglia in response to the bacterial cell wall component Lipopolysaccharide. This data further improves our understanding of neuroimmune interactions and brain inflammation responses in human-specific models.
