Abstract

During this webinar we will discuss the implementation and impact of the MALDI Biotyper^® and the MBT Sepsityper^® in the clinical microbiology laboratory at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. We will learn how the implementation of the MBT Sepsityper^® rapid sample preparation impacts time-to-result in the identification of organisms directly isolated from positive blood cultures. The components of the MBT Sepsityper^® kit will be explained as well as the length of time needed to identify organisms using both rapid and non-rapid sample preparations. Case studies will illustrate the critical time-to-identification for targeted antimicrobial treatment. The webinar will close with a Q & A session.
