Abstract
Date:  June 29, 2021
Time: 9:00am (PDT),  12:00pm (EDT)

This month’s LabRoots discussion titled “Laboratory Screening for Multiple Myeloma: A Nudge in the Direction of Guideline Compliance”,  is hosted by Dr. Hart who will discuss a clinical focus on Plasma Cell Disorders.  A focus he undertook early 2020, which was initiated through an audit over a 12 month period of Plasma Cell Disorder screening practices within the St. Elizabeth Healthcare System.  Dr. Hart’s study led to an AACC Abstract, published December of 2020, which points to measurable clinical outcomes favoring patients with these disorders.  At the conclusion of Dr. Hart’s discussion today, you will have a clear understanding of patient impact linked directly to proper versus improper screening practices for Plasma Cell Disorders, specifically Multiple Myeloma.

Learning Objectives
  • Review classification and epidemiology of plasma cell neoplasms
  • Identify what testing approaches adhere to guidelines
  • Summarize role of test utilization audits
  • Describe how to leverage existing system structures to influence others (“the nudge”)
  • Explain importance of monitoring for efficacy

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
