Abstract
An excessive number of software solutions are available to help manage your clinical, biobank, or biorepository sample information. But in looking at the options, you really must ask yourself one burning question: Do you just want a simple inventory application…or do you need more? Inventory management and sample management are often used interchangeably. But they shouldn’t be. They are markedly different. Inventory management is simply what, where, and how much of a sample you have. Sample management, though, is the holy grail of biobanking.

Sample management represents the entirety of the sample and all it can share with you. Along with standard inventory management data – sample management offers a holistic look at metadata, patient data, consent, study and protocol, time points, and analytical data.

The easiest way to think about it is – Sample management includes inventory management – but inventory management does not include sample management.

Attend our webinar to discover all the reasons a sample management solution can become the most essential, valuable, and trusted partner in your lab – and to your work.
