Abstract

Prepare the next generation of scientists with real-world experience using spectroscopy techniques.  Spectroscopy is a critical part of the modern chemistry lab. Although the three most common techniques: UV-Vis, FTIR, and NMR have not changed, the instrumentation found in the high school and undergraduate laboratory has evolved substantially in recent years.   This webinar will briefly review the fundamentals of these three spectroscopic techniques, the instrumental advancements that have become more common, how they are utilized in the academic teaching laboratory, and examples of how they are being applied in current research and industrial applications.

You will learn:

  • How UV-Vis, FT-IR, and NMR fit into the modern chemical sciences curriculum.
  • Three significant advancements in teaching laboratory instrumentation.
  • Relevant examples of how UV-Vis, FT-IR, and NMR instruments found in teaching labs are used in industry.

Attend this webinar and receive access to resources for teaching- videos, lesson plans, and more!

LabRoots is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® Program. By attending this webinar, you can earn 1 Continuing Education credit once you have viewed the webinar in its entirety.
