Abstract
Flex-Seq® Ex-L offers targeted, fast, and effective sequencing-based genotyping to characterize upwards of 40,000 loci in plants and animals, such as maize, cotton, cattle, and pig. By sequencing a target loci, the process can genotype SNPs, indels and short haplotypes formed by adjacent variants present within the target region being sequenced. This customizable and targeted genotyping platform is available as a service and commercial kit. The automation-friendly workflow makes Flex-Seq Ex-L ideal for labs processing large volume of samples.

Learning Objectives
  • Discuss the complexities involved in sequence-based genotyping to characterize a large number of loci
  • Discover how the Flex-Seq Ex-L technology works for sequence-based genotyping
  • Review how genomic information obtained through the use of the Flex-Seq Ex-L technology can be applied to speed breeding and selection decisions
