Trends in Strain THC Concentration, Popularity, and Longevity over Time

Abstract
Access to cannabis testing data enables us to explore relationships over time between the THC concentration of particular strains and those strains’ popularity and longevity in the marketplace. Three inter-related areas of interest are whether strains with higher THC concentration are also the more popular strains, whether strains with higher THC concentration are also the longer-lived strains, and thus whether the most popular strains are also the longest-lived strains. This analysis examines the data to explore these questions. Such an examination will provide insights into the association between THC concentration and consumer purchasing patterns over time.

1. Summarize how THC% patterns in MD cannabis have changed over time.
2. Research whether strains with high THC% are the most popular or longest-lived strains.
