Abstract

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are key cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) with diverse immune functions that have a major influence on tumorigenesis. Thus, TAMs have gained increasing attention as promising targets for the development of effective anti-cancer immunotherapy. In pre-clinical drug discovery research, in vitro macrophage assays are commonly performed to monitor the effect of immunotherapeutic candidates. These assays represent a helpful tool in predicting the effect of immunotherapeutics on TAMs in vivo.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the benefits of using human-derived myeloid cells for in vitro assays in pre-clinical drug discovery research
  • Learn about the importance of in vitro macrophage polarization assays to help evaluate pro- and anti-inflammatory phenotypes
  • Get insights on the use of in vitro myeloid suppressive assays for the functional evaluation of candidates
  • Understand the role of phagocytosis and ADCP assays for candidate monitoring

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
