Abstract

Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma genitalium are common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) yet are not as well studied or understood as gonorrhea or chlamydia. In addition, many persons with these infections are asymptomatic. This presentation will provide a broad overview of these two STIs, including updates on their epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment in the U.S. Bring your “tricky trich” and M. genitalium questions for the Q&A session at the end of the presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain populations at risk for T. vaginalis and M. genitalium
  • Recognize common clinical presentations of T. vaginalis and M. genitalium
  • Review current diagnostic methods for these STIs, including highly sensitive nucleic acid amplification tests
  • Explain recommended treatment regimens, including the role of antibiotic resistance

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
