Time: 10:00am (PDT), 1:00pm (EDT), 7:00pm (CEST)
Abstract
Human-induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology allows for “clinical trials in-a-dish” because patient characteristics can be maintained in cell culture which provides limitless material for research initiatives. Previously, cardiac diseases were difficult to study due to inherent differences in small animal models as well as barriers to patient biopsies. Today, the advent of stem cell technology provides an exciting research strategy with direct human relevance to cardiac disease.

In this talk, we will highlight:

  • How iPSCs are generated from patient blood samples and maintained in culture
  • How iPSCs can be differentiated into the cardiac cell types
  • How patient-derived iPSC cells can be used to study diseases and find therapies

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
