Abstract
Wastewater surveillance is an emerging science that can be a critical public health tool for infectious disease surveillance. However, it is currently limited by a lack of standardized methods, variability in results, and analytical tools to interpret the data. The project discussed in this webinar aimed to compare methods for wastewater surveillance, which are not only sensitive and robust enough to reliably detect multiple pathogens from sample matrices in densely populated areas, but are also cost-effective and feasible to carry out in a low-resource setting.

In this webinar featuring the work of Dr. Dilip Abraham, learn about:
  • A comparison study between 4 commonly used capture and concentration methods for wastewater surveillance
  • How Christian Medical College was able to capture and concentrate 4 different pathogens in wastewater grab samples, including S. Typhi, SARS-CoV-2, Vibrio cholerae, and Hepatitis E (HEV)
  • The standardization of PCR methods and targets for comparability of results

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
