Sugar and the Human Body

Sugar is often affiliated with candies, sweets, and sodas, and the corresponding “sugar rush” that comes with it. However, this is known as added sugar, and too much of it can lead to higher risks of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, while also lacking any nutritional value. Natural sugar, on the other hand, provides all the necessary vitamins and minerals necessary for the body to keep going for the long term and is only found in fruits and vegetables, such as spinach, dairy products, nuts, and apples. These foods also include vitamins B9, B12, D, and E, along with calcium and fiber. While added sugar is okay in moderation, a healthy diet should consist of an abundance of natural sugars to avoid unnecessary health risks.
