Our Changing Climate

WRITTEN BY: Jennifer Ellis

Earth Day 2017 focused on “Environmental and Climate Literacy.” The goal of this year’s campaign is to work toward 100% global student education on environmental matters and climate issues by 2020. The Earth Day Network is collaborating with organizations and governments around the world to ensure that every student is knowledgeable about the impacts of climate change and how we contribute to this matter.

In honor of Earth Day 2017, LabRoots would like to support this campaign with an educational visual about climate change and the effects it has on our Earth. Climate change refers to a change in global weather patterns and surface temperatures over a period of time. On Earth, we are experiencing a 1° C increase in surface temperature from 150 years ago, which in addition to other factors is causing a 4-8 inch rise in oceans levels. If the trend continues, we are likely to see a drastic impact to our current living standards unless we work together to lessen our contributions the changing climate.
